AWDS Hard Campaign Guide - Mission 7: Fog Rolls In
Difficulty: Easy - Moderate.
Objective: Capture the enemy Head Quarters or rout the enemy.
Suggested Main COs: Sami, Sonja, Adder/Zak/Koal.
Support COs: Eagle, Kanbei, Adder/Zak/Koal.
Suggested skills for Main CO: Prairie Dog, Pathfinder, Eagle Eye, APC Boost.
Suggested skills for Support CO: All three tag bonuses, Eagle Eye.
General Strategy
A relatively easy mission. You start off with two Battle Helicopters, Reconnaissance, two Infantry, an Armoured Personnel Carrier and a Tank whereas Zak/Koal only has a Tank, a Battle Helicopter, Anti-Aircraft and Two Reconnaissance units in your immediate vicinity.
Your goal is to provoke his Reconnaissance units out, destroy them, use your Tank against the Anti-Aircraft unit then gang up on anything else leftover with your Battle Helicopters.
You essentially need the centre factory so that you can continually produce Tanks and/or Artillery units. Crawl your units forward whilst covering each other. Don’t worry about the Battleships hidden in the Reefs North of your Head Quarters and to the East of your Head Quarters, they’re out of ammunitions. The Cruiser to the South of the enemy’s Head Quarters is however, something you should watch out for because that can pretty much one hit kill your Battle Helicopters. However, don’t take too much time crawling through the woods! After around twenty days, Zak/Koal will replenish their ammunition!
In-Depth Guide
Watch out for the Reconnaissance unit hiding in the Woods adjacent to the middle factory. Set yourself up so you can destroy it on your first day.
If you can sneak an Armoured Personnel Carrier loaded with an Infantry unit through the Woods you can make a sneaky Head Quarters capture. Just make sure you unload the foot soldier into Woods and then cover the foot soldier with the Armoured Personnel Carrier and/or Battle Helicopters or anything whilst getting to the Head Quarters and while capturing it.
You still need to destroy some units though in order to get a perfect score! It is actually possible to do this mission without destroying a single unit.
