AWDS Hard Campaign Guide - Mission 8: Tag Battle

Airport to the East is highly recommended for a superb advantage.

Support COs: Colin, Sonja, Eagle/Jake, Max.

Suggested skills for Main CO: Fire Sale, Gold Rush, Prairie Dog, Star Power/Conquerer.

Suggested skills for Support CO: All support Tags, anything else.

General Strategy

Your greatest threat here is the sheer amount of powerful units Lash and Jugger have pre-deployed against you. The Piperunner and the Artillery aren’t it; you can very easily stay away from their range or send in a Tank to wound the Piperunner and cover the Artillery with Rockets.

The two Battle Helicopters, Reconnaissance and Anti-Aircraft however, are much more problematic. You’ll have to deploy your own Anti-Aircrafts in order to combat the aerial units and/or a Tank to dispatch with the other land units. The enemy may or may not send the Tanks pre-deployed against you but they will never move the Neotank unless you are within firing range.

When you’ve secured the Airport, a single Bomber or Battle Helicopter can take out the Piperunner leaving the Artillery vulnerable. You can then wrestle with Lash/Jugger to capture the two middle factories.

In-Depth Guide

You should watch out for their Tag power. It’s relatively long but it is imminent. Unless you’re Sasha. Without Sasha, you should concentrate on staying away from the Piperunner’s range from all it’s available firing points on the pipe and factory. Or you can be sneaky and CO Power a Jess Mid Tank to destroy it in one shot and have Rockets already placed to shoot out the Artillery. This job is even easier as Grit. Once you’ve dispatched the Piperunner, you can switch over to your partner for the beneficial aerial attacks.

If the computer starts its turn with a Tag power charged up, they will use it. (Duh...) However, if the computer builds up to a full Tag charge during its turn, they won’t use it at all until the beginning fo their next turn. Use this as a chance to damage as many units as possible. You’re not facing Andy or Hawke so you won’t have to worry about any units bouncing back, and you’re not facing movement COs either so freshly built units won’t be rushing into you.

My Score: 13 days, 300 points, Kanbei/Sonja.
