Max is an all-out direct attack CO, with a liking for tanks and such and a dislike for cannons that point at the sky and shoot really far.

Day To Day Abilities

  • 110% attack with all else

Max's direct units get another 24% attack increase and a 10% defence increase for one day. Other units gain the standard 10% attack and defence boost and all direct units (but not infantry) gain +1 movement.

Notes & Tactics

Max

Max is rather overpowered in AW1, so he's a great choice for things like campaign. Don't waste your money on lots of rockets, missiles, artillery or battleships. (Max's artillery range is 1! 1!!) Also, don't be fooled by the game's emphasis on Max's tanks. Direct units include all aircraft, and subs and cruisers as well, so if plenty of airports are lurking around, don't be scared to send in a attack fleet of air units! Also, you shouldn't use Max on tight, small, or enclosed maps, or any with choke points (two areas linked with a very narrow gap), as he needs wide open spaces to unleash the full power of his direct attacks. By using a combination of bombers/copters and ground units, you should be able to do major damage to any army.
