Lash - Engineering Goth
The eccentric goth scientist of Black Hole, Lash loves to use defencive terrain to her offencive advantage, domineering terrain-rich, land-heavy maps but being painfully average on wide oceans.
Day To Day Abilities
- +10% attack per terrain star
COP - Terrain Tactics ****
- Movement cost 1 over all passable terrain
- 110% defence
Lash realises that trees and mountains need not slow her down, and so all units' movement cost over all passable terrain is 1. Useful movement-based power in heavy terrain, but its use is situational.
SCOP - Prime Tactics ----***
- Movement cost 1 over all terrain
- Terrain stars doubled
- 110% defence
Now this is more like it! All movement cost drops to 1 and thanks to amazing flashes of inspiration on Lash's part, all terrain stars double for her units, effectively doubling their attack bonuses! This means that mountainous mechs get 40% attack+defence bonus, and you should try to take advantage of this kind of bonus by striking from forests, cities and reefs.
Notes & Tactics
Lash is an interesting CO to use. In many ways, she is like Andy, Olaf and the rest in that all her units are standard. However, she ends up excelling slightly with mechs because of their ability to cross mountains, and in fog of war, as forests are even more of an attractive prospect as they provide cover AND bonuses. You wouldn't think it, but even things like rockets get an offensive kick out of 3-star forests, by firing rockets covered with stinging nettles. All this means you should try to attack from good terrain even more than usual, although only if it doesn't disadvantage you (putting you in range of 2 battleships, for example). Lash is a good choice for mountain and forest-heavy land maps, but her advantages lose nearly all usefulness in large sea and air maps, or maps with wide plains. Flakalakalakalak!
