Sonja - Reconnaissance Connoisseur
Sonja is the brainy yet inherently unlucky daughter of Kanbei. She relies more on tactics than power, and her units are suited more towards battles in fog of war.
Day To Day Abilities
- -1 Terrain Bonus for enemy units
- +1 Vision in Fog of War
- Hides HP values from enemy
- -5% luck
COP - Enhanced Vision ***
- +2 Vision (over other COs)
- -2 Terrain Bonus for enemy units
- Vision into woods and reefs
- 110% attack/defence
Sonja gathers intel on her enemy, raises all units vision up to +2 and outfits them with infra-red goggles to see into forests and reefs from a distance, for the duration of the day. She also goes a bit psycho and makes enemies lose 2 terrain stars instead of 1. That and 110/110% attack/defence while the units are all excited about their new toys.
SCOP - Counter Break ---**
- +2 Vision (over other COs)
- -3 Terrain Bonus for enemy units
- Vision into woods and reefs
- 110% attack/defence
- Fire first when attacked
Sonja works overtime in the intel and strategy department to bring her units +2 vision from normal, vision into forests and reefs, removing 3 terrain stars from enemy units instead of 1, and the strange ability to fire first even when attacked. That's a very clever trick.

Woahmagod overpowered tag. Buy with Sonja, destroy with Kanbei, hide with Sonja, defend with Kanbei, move into position in the first half of the tag power with Sonja, crush everything and stand untouchable with Kanbei.
Interesting mix, very terrain (and therefore land) based. Sonja can blow away terrain cover and prise enemies off heavy terrain, while Lash can take advantage of the heavy terrain to deliver strong attacks. End tags with Sonja unless you have a good deal of lush terrain for Lash to armour up with.
Notes & Tactics
Sonja is a very useful CO in fog of war, but without it she is far from useless. Use her masked HP intel to your advantage by grouping similar units and shuffling them round to cause confusion. "That's not the Neotank I ground down to 2 with my cowardly artillery!", your friends will cry,"My Md. Tanks! They're burning!", they may add. Another way is to trick the enemy into thinking that those units that are moving towards him are at full hp. First move your damaged units out of sight, then say something like "Time to bring in the reinforcements!" and he will think that all those tanks are at full hp. This is a good way of making your enemy waste attacks on units that are practically dead anyway. Sonja's CO powers also build relatively swiftly, so use Counter Break often when you want a bit of piece and quiet (if used with the confusion method, this could have pleasing results) and don't be afraid to use Enhanced Vision instead if you want to scan a whole forest for hiding rockets. Terrain star removal is also useful, it means you can prise infantry off cities much easier, and basically drag down the defences of any land units. This is also a huge Lash killer, as it drags down her attack power and SCOP effectiveness as well. Sonja's bad luck is less of a worry in Dual Strike, but just bear in mind that she could still lose lose up to 5% damage as well as gain up to 10% like all COs get innately.
